The OCOPOMO tools

OCOPOMO is pioneering an “off the mainstream” approach to policy modeling, combined with e-government tools and advanced ICT technologies. The main expected outcome of OCOPOMO is the implementation and proof of concept of a configurable modular ICT toolbox to support complex socio-economic policy making, ready-made to be deployed in similar policy domains without further large efforts of implementation.

The OCOPOMO consortium will also offer an agent-based model of macroeconomic relations encouraging stakeholders to take into account shocks and surprises from the wider policy environment and provide a comprehensive framework where cooperation and trust among policy-concerned parties can be maximized.

The following figure provides an overview of the OCOPOMO system architecture.

OCOPOMO is enabling policy stakeholders to bring precision and clarity to their arguments and to understand those of other stakeholder groups. Governments and policy operators benefit from the OCOPOMO solution by being able to involve stakeholders and have a toolbox to master complexity better in developing their strategic policies through an integrated e-governance toolbox.

The benefits of OCOPOMO for each of the target groups foreseen are outlined in the following table:
